A collection of various mockups and designs.

This composition is a combination of the original collection view with the updated design. Media are in a separate, scrolling section of the page, so that the sidebars and headers can always be viewed. Media can be selected and dragged to other collections in the left sidebar to copy them. When you select one or more items, their metadata shows up on the right sidebar. If you hit the Edit button, the metadata turns into text fields that you can edit and then save. You can use this method to make bulk metadata edits.
There are also additional view tools. You can either view the media as a set of thumbnails or as a list. When you're in thumbnail mode, you can resize the images up and down, on the fly (this can be done using JavaScript). By allowing the user to reduce the size of the thumbnails, or view their media as a list, they can more easily move hundreds of media or edit metadata.
One last feature is the ability to quickly filter currently visible media via a search bar. This is a simplified version of a more advanced search that works on-the-fly.

This shows a possible design for adding media. It builds off the technology in the multi-file flash uploading document.

This updated design places the focus on the content by decreasing the size of the header.

This was the original design. It includes a sidebar navigation for easy viewing of collection, or alternative views. A gray informational panel is in the top right which gives metadata about the collection. A secondary filter bar within the page lets you filter the current collection for recent media, private media, etc...
